Basic History
Basic Inquiry was established in 1983 by Gerry Kelly to give artists a space to draw and paint nude models. The studio was named by Maurice Spira who
said, "Life drawing is a basic inquiry into the human form.”
Today, Basic Inquiry offers nine different sessions a week, special drawing events throughout the year, and gallery space for members.
